Meet Candice Polk
With over 15 years of experience in early childhood education and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, Candice brings both professional expertise and a mother’s heart to the classroom. As a proud mother of three, she understands the unique joys and challenges of early childhood from both the educator’s and parent’s perspective.
A passionate advocate of the Reggio Emilia philosophy, Candice believes every child is capable, curious, and full of potential. She creates a welcoming, child-centered environment where learning is guided by children's interests and supported through hands-on exploration.
Her classroom is rooted in key Reggio Emilia learning objectives, including:
Fostering creativity and self-expression through art, storytelling, and dramatic play
Supporting emotional and social development through group collaboration and reflective dialogue
Encouraging critical thinking and curiosity through inquiry-based projects and open-ended materials
Strengthening language and communication through meaningful conversation and documentation
Building connections to nature and community to help children feel grounded and valued
Candice also has extensive experience working with neurodivergent children, including those with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing differences. She is deeply committed to inclusion, and adapts her teaching to meet the diverse needs of every learner—ensuring each child feels seen, respected, and supported.
She values strong partnerships with families and believes that education is most impactful when it’s built on trust, communication, and shared goals. Her nurturing approach, combined with a deep understanding of child development, helps every child thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
